Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia (USOHRCV)! Here at the USOHRCV, we aim to provide our volunteers with fun and fulfilling volunteer opportunities which help us to achieve our mission of “strengthening America’s service members by keeping them connected to family, home, and country, throughout their service to the nation”. We are always looking for new, committed volunteers to join our team!
The USOHRCV offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, including serving as a Center Representative Volunteer in one of our local USOHRCV centers and/or as a Special Event Volunteer at one of our many USOHRCV events throughout the year. Whether you are an active duty military member who is working toward a Volunteer Service medal or a civilian who wants to give back to our men and women in uniform, there are many ways for you to contribute in a meaningful way. USOHRCV Volunteer Handbook
is a detailed guide for our volunteers. All volunteers are responsible for understanding and abiding by the policies contained within this handbook.

Standards of Conduct
contains the expectations of the USOHRCV in relation to volunteers and their work and behavior while volunteering with the USOHRCV.

is the agreement all volunteers enter into upon application to be a USOHRCV volunteer.
USO STATEMENT ON VOLUNTEER SERVICE
Serving America’s troops and their families is a privilege. Volunteers serve at the sole discretion of the USO and the organization may elect to engage or discontinue a volunteer’s services at any time or for any reason or no reason. Completing a volunteer interest form does not guarantee engagement in USO volunteer activities.

What is the USO and who does it serve?
The USO is a voluntary, civilian nonprofit organization, chartered by Congress, through which the people of this Nation may serve the men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces in peace or war, within or without the territorial limits of the United States. The USO provides a wide variety of programs and services to military personnel and their families, supplementing and otherwise assisting the U.S. Armed Forces in programs relating to health, welfare, recreation, and morale. The USO’s primary constituent groups are active duty military members and their families.
Who is eligible to volunteer with the USOHRCV? Volunteer positions are open to all individuals who meet the qualifications established for each assignment regardless of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender, national origin, age, veteran status, and condition of disability.
