Please be advised that due to a forecast of rain for the remainder of the week, as well as a 90% chance of rain on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we, along with the Virginia Zoo have decided to postpone our USO Military Appreciation Day at the Virginia Zoo to Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 10AM to 4PM.
Free admission will still be given to Active Duty Military, Reserve/National Guard, DOD Civilians, Retirees and their Eligible Dependents. Eligible Dependents are defined as immediate family only. Children over the age of 10 years old will need to have their own military ID card.
Please be advised: In order to serve everyone in line, the face painting in the children’s area near the pavilion will close at 3PM. If you wish to get your or your child’s face painted, you will need to be in line before the 3PM deadline.
Please be patient: This is a very popular event attended by nearly 9,000 people each year. Volunteers will be recruited and trained to direct parking in order to get everyone in and out as quickly as possible. Please take the time to thank these volunteers for their service.
