The USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia is always in need of the following shelf stable or non-perishable items! Donations of In-kind materials can be delivered directly to your nearest USOHRCV center.

Food and Refreshments:

• fresh fruit, especially bananas, apples and oranges
• individual sized bags of crackers, chips or cookies
• fruit cups, yogurt cups, pudding cups
• microwave mac and cheese bowls
• microwave rice bowls
• microwave noodle bowls
• (shelf stable) tuna salad and chicken salad kits
• granola bars and protein bars
• pop-tarts
• juice boxes
• canned soda
• sweetened instant beverage sticks
• individual serving sized bottles of Gatorade, Powerade or other sports drinks
• beef jerkey
• individual sized bags of nuts, trail mix, or dehydrated fruit
• fruit leather and fruit snacks
• oatmeal bowls or packets of instant oatmeal
• individual sized condiments and seasonings including ketchup and mustard packets, hot sauce, salt and pepper

Entertainment:

• donations of newly released movies and DVDs
• blank cards or post cards with postage affixed (allows service members to write home)
• postage (Forever stamps)
• donations of newly released books
• headphones

Misc. items:

• paper products such as plates, napkins, paper towels, cups
• disposable plastic utensils including forks and spoons
• reams of 8.5 x11 copy paper
• clorox or lysol cleaning wipes
• hand sanitizer
• travel sized toiletries, especially toothpaste and mouthwash
• disposable men’s shaving razors
• travel sized sewing kits
• tide pens or shout wipes

We CANNOT accept the following items:

• donations of homemade food or baked goods
• donations of food past it’s sell by or expiration date
• donations of used children’s toys or clothing
• donations of military uniform items
• donations of medications or opened toiletry items
• donations of reading material that are either political, sexually suggestive or explicit, or religious in nature
• donations of VHS movies, cassette tapes, or CDs
