Every day, we are reminded of the tremendous sacrifices our brave men and women in uniform make for our freedom. We hear the jets flying overhead and we see our military members and their families working to improve our community. We can never express enough gratitude to the military for protecting the freedoms we enjoy, or give the proper thanks to military families who keep things running smoothly here at home.
For the past 70 years, the United Service Organization (USO) has been supporting our military. The mission statement of the USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia says it all: “It is the mission of the USO of Hampton Roads to enhance the quality of life of the U.S. Armed Forces personnel and their families worldwide, and to create a cooperative relationship between U.S. military communities and involved or supporting civilian communities.”
GEICO appreciates the 365-days-a-year commitment made by our military and their families, as well as the daily contributions made by the USO staff and volunteers. From the day we opened our doors in 1936, the men and women serving our country have held a special place among our GEICO policyholders.
GEICO is pleased to announce that over the next three years, we will donate $150,000 to support a bevy of programs as well as add improvements to centers of the USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia across the state.
